McClendon Family

William M. McClendon (1841-1915) was born in Catahoula Pa, Louisiana, probably the son of Elias McClendon, a native of South Carolina. William married Frances Virginia Ellis, daughter of Arthur O. Ellis. William moved to Texas before 1867 and lived at Renfro Prairie in 1870. By 1910 the family had moved to Burke where William died in 1915.

William and Frances had the following children:

Byron W. McClendon lived at Burke in 1910 and was married to Alice (1867- ). They had the following children:

William J. (1894- ), who is believed to be "Billy" McClendon who lived between Burke and Fairview in the 1950s.

Byron T. (1904- )
Eli (1907- )
Clifford E. (1909- )

William "Billie" McClendon married Belle, and they lived at Burke in 1930. They had the following children:

Roy (1903- )
Vonzy (1907- )
