Drew Holder ran two stores in Burke, one individually in what later became the Post Office Substation, and the other in partnership with his brother-in-law R. L Campbell. Holder also served as substitute rural mail carrier when Campbell was not available.
Holder married Gladys Dubose, daughter of Tom Dubose. In the 1930s she served as a teacher at Burke School.
